Yes, there was that much that happened in 2015. It COULD probably take up at least 4 or 5 entries. I am going to do my best to fit it into 3 (probably could be 2 but we had a fun family vacation mixed in.)
It has almost been a year to the date that Jimmy left for a new job and started our crazy year. He was offered a Superintendent position at a base about 2.5 hours from where we lived. While we prayerfully considered the job and knew that this was our path, it didn't come without its own pile of hiccups. First of all, we still owned a home in Oak Harbor. Secondly, I had a contract for my teaching position through the end of the school year. And lastly, a real deal breaker.....Mason was a senior and graduating that June. We couldn't just up and go. So Jimmy went alone.
We couldn't afford 2 house payments or even a rental so Jimmy braved the base campground. Luckily in those first few months he was able to be in a yurt. While it was better than a tent (it had a bed, lights and heat) it was not well insulated and he was very cold much of the time.
In early June though he had to give up the yurt and spent the rest of the summer in a tent. I eventually spent a few nights down there with him and discovered that he wasn't even using an air mattress. I wasn't as brave as my husband. I would tough it out in a tent but not on the ground. Needless to say, we got an air mattress :)

| Our first load to storage in February |
Getting the house ready to sell was not only a lot of work, it was a very emotional process. We were packing up 12 years of memories. We quickly discovered that we not only owned too much stuff but that this was not going to be a quick process with me still working full time and Jimmy only coming home on the weekends. Our plan of action was to fix & repair the little things that we had let go. (Like no trim in our bedroom) and clear out a bunch of our stuff so the house looked nice for being on the market. We made the most of it, but we were exhausted almost ALL of the time. It ended up taking us through the end of May before we finally got it all done.

First of the construction fixes-new windows

The dream for my bedroom finally came true...
just in time to put the house on the market. |

We felt like this at the end of EVERY weekend!

But alas, the house was finally complete and we got it on the market in the last days of May and it sold a few days later (thank the Lord) and we could turn our attentions to Mason's graduation which was approaching like wildfire. We had an amazing party for him and a great graduating celebration. The best part was the house looked great and there was no real "cleaning" to be done.
We were so proud of Mason and it gave our whole family a little sigh of relief of all the craziness that had been happening for the last several months.....little did me know that it was literally a tiny little...like the smallest break ever!
Stay tuned for part 2 of our crazy 2015!
